Before They Were Famous Music Video Cameos

All actors have two things in common when they start out on their road to stardom:  they are broke, and they love to be in front of the camera.  It's a dangerous combination that often leads to embarrassing clips that tend to rear up later in their career.  Since music videos don't (normally) require any kind of speaking (or talent, for that matter) they are an ideal way for unknown and inexperienced actors to earn some cash and add a credit to their portfolio of work.

Most actors, even those who are hugely successful now, have had to start somewhere.  Normally that somewhere is a job that they later quickly scratch off their resumés, but fortunately for us, TV, magazines and the internet aren't so quick to forget, and there are plenty of clips available to watch fledgling stars in the clumsy developing stages of their career before Hollywood came a-calling. There are a few ones that most people know, such as Courtney Cox's appearance in Bruce Springsteen's video for Dancing in the Dark, in 1989, but here are a few others that you might not have heard of.

Nicole Kidman narrowly escaped arrest by the fashion police as an extra in Pat Wilson´s (nope, I've never heard of her either) "Bop Girl" in 1983.

Angelina Jolie showed off her pouting skills in Meatloaf´s "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" in 1994 where she played a homeless girl.

Elijah Wood looked like his normal adorable, puppy dog self in Paula Abdul "Forever Your Girl", 1989 and speaking of Paula Abdul, here's another hottie she snagged for a music video- Keanu Reeves starred at his floppy-haired best in her "Rush, Rush" video in 1991.

Trust Wesley Snipes to manage to look cool at all times, even in old music video archives.  He appeared in Michael Jackson's "Bad" in 1987.

Matt LeBlanc fit the bill as an Italian American Hunk in Bon Jovi's "Miracle", 1990.
