Bruce Springsteen, how I've missed you. For fans who were living under rocks this week: Springsteen's new single, "We Take Care of Our Own" is out. And you know what that means, right? Yes, a new album AND a full band tour!
After spending several days holed up in my little office listening to the song on repeat (well, not really days, more like hours, but hey that does NOT mean I'm obsessive), I can definitely say I love it. Not everyone will - just like not everyone likes Coldplay. Sorry, it's true.Once I absorbed the awesomeness that is "We Take Care of Our Own," my mind shifted focus immediately to the forthcoming album, Wrecking Ball. We've got several weeks to go until that's out, but from what I understand, it'll be very much the way I interpret "We Take Care of Our Own": full of anger and disappointment and a strong political statement.
Once I got the whole pre-order for Wrecking Ball out of the way, I switched gears again. We know there's a Bruce Springsteen tour coming in the U.S. We already have dates for the world tour (available via the official Springsteen website). But why no tour dates for the good ol' U.S.A.? The album drops on March 5, Bruce. Maybe if I play "We Take Care of Our Own" backwards, I'll hear the tour dates? I'll get back to you on that one...
The only thing I've read for sure in terms of cities is from NJ.com. According to this article, folks in Newark, New Jersey, will be getting not one, but two shows at the Prudential Center "some time in late April or early May." Also, deals are apparently in the works for a pair of shows at the Izod Center in East Rutherford (Springsteen Central, well, aside from Asbury Park of course) and at least one gig at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
That, unfortunately, is all I know. Promise to keep you posted if anything else pops up -- and it will. Soon. Faith will be rewarded!
